Toad rush

Scientific Name: Juncus bufonius
Family: Juncaceae

An annual found in wet soils, it will infest flowerbeds, paths and lawns. The leaf blades are flat, and branched stems have flowers at the tips. The flowers are attached directly to the stems without a stalk.
Mature plants can reach 20 cm in height, but usually they are in tufts about 8 cm high.
Easily uprooted and should be pulled before seeds mature, but difficult to remove from a lawn if widespread.
Killed by most non-selective weedkillers.
